The greening of enterprises in Southeast Asia is attracting growing attention in a pursuit of sustainable development as the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework (ACRF) articulates the transition towards a green and circular economy is a way to navigate economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic while managing environmental impacts. Yet, adopting greener practices is still a challenge for many enterprises, and particularly to the small and medium-sized enterprises. Even if adopting greener practices can bring numerous benefits, including increased profitability, lowering operational cost, greater competitiveness and resilience, and opening access to new markets and sources of finance, many enterprises still need to be supported.
Understanding distinct characteristics and challenges of enterprises and in particular SMEs helps regional policy makers to strategically design and implement policies which address multi-faceted environmental challenges and promote a circular economy through green transition. The challenges faced by SMEs such as limited access to finance, regulatory barriers, and information deficits, require a whole-of-government approach with policy actions which effectively facilitate greening of SMEs and promote responsible business conduct.
This webinar is organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The webinar will feature the regional policy makers, the private sector representatives as well as the field-experts
The objective of the meeting is to discuss new greening practices, including the ones related to circular economy and provide a set of private sector-led recommendations and observations to the policy makers.

ASEAN包括的復興枠組み（ACRF）は、環境への影響を管理しつつ新型コロナウイルス感染症のパンデミックからの経済復興を進める方法として、環境に配慮した循環型経済への移行を明示しています。このように東南アジアでは、持続可能な開発を追求する上で企業のグリーン化にますます注目が集まっています。しかし多くの企業、特に中小企業にとっては、より環境に配慮した慣行を採用することは依然として困難です。環境に優しい慣行を採用することで、収益性の向上、運営コストの削減、競争力とレジリエンスの向上、新たな市場や資金源の利用可能性の拡大といった多くのメリットがもたらされるとしても、依然として多くの企業が支援を必要としています。
地域の政策当局が多面的な環境問題に対処し、グリーン転換を通じて循環型経済を促進する政策を戦略的に立案・実施するには、企業、特に中小企業の特徴と課題を理解する必要があります。資金利用の制約、規制の壁、情報不足など、中小企業が抱える課題を解決するには、中小企業のグリーン化を効果的に促進し、責任ある企業行動を促進する政策行動を伴う全政府的アプローチが必要です。
このウェビナーは経済協力開発機構（OECD）が主催し、地域の政策当局、民間企業の代表、各分野の専門家が参加して、循環型経済に関する新しい環境に配慮した慣行、民間主導の一連の提言と見解について議論します。
