Road show to launch the report Labour Migration in the Western Balkans

‌‌‌The OECD South East Europe Regional Programme, in cooperation with Austria and Switzerland, organised roundtable meetings in each of the six Western Balkan economies between June and September 2022.

These meetings provided the opportunity to discuss the economy-specific findings and policy recommendations of the OECD report Labour Migration in the Western Balkans: Mapping Patterns, Addressing Challenges and Reaping Benefits with a wide range of migration policy stakeholders in each Western Balkan economy. They also enabled discussion on how each Western Balkan economy can improve its policies to reduce the strength of potential push factors behind labour emigration and maximise the development benefits from migration and the diaspora.

The roundtable meetings also opened up the chance for deepening the discussions that took place during the 2022 OECD High-Level Conference on South East Europe and explored ways to continue and strengthen the work on labour and skills policies.
