    Il faut investir davantage dans les systèmes de santé pour se préparer aux chocs futurs, selon l’OCDE

    Au vu des répercussions considérables de la pandémie de COVID-19 sur les populations et l’économie mondiale, les pays doivent adapter de toute urgence leurs systèmes de santé afin de mieux faire face aux chocs futurs. S’il est nécessaire d’investir massivement dans les personnels de santé, il faut aussi accroître les dépenses allouées à la prévention et aux infrastructures numériques, selon un nouveau rapport de l’OCDE.

    TOSSD - Tracking global health expenditure in support of the SDGs

    The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the need for better tracking and monitoring domestic and international investments in health, including on pandemic preparedness. The total official support for sustainable development (TOSSD) framework can help, as it captures both cross‑border flows to developing countries, such as international assistance, and domestic contributions to global public goods, such as pandemic preparedness. This pilot study tests the current TOSSD methodology for tracking the global financing for health, and explores how TOSSD can be shaped to best respond to the emerging information needs of the international community.

    La pandémie de COVID-19 a souligné la nécessité de rendre les systèmes de santé plus résilients, déclare l’OCDE

    Le COVID-19 a contribué à une hausse de 16 % du nombre attendu de décès en 2020 et au premier semestre 2021 dans les pays de l’OCDE. L’espérance de vie a reculé dans 24 pays sur 30 disposant de données comparables, et principalement aux États-Unis (de 1.6 an) et en Espagne (de 1.5 an), d’après un nouveau rapport de l’OCDE.

    Improving Regulatory Delivery in Food Safety - Mitigating Old and New Risks, and Fostering Recovery

    This report describes how regulators around the world adapted to the confusion brought by the COVID-19 crisis to ensure the supply of food while maintaining food safety and security. It brings together examples of regulatory responses at regional, national and international levels. The report also discusses how, despite all the challenges, the pandemic has helped uncover new regulatory tools and foster a culture of flexibility and agility in regulatory systems.

    Health care prices and Purchasing Power Parities

    Variations in per capita health spending can be the result of differences in prices for health care goods and services, and in the quantity of care that individuals are using (“volume”). Eurostat and the OECD have calculated purchasing power parities and price level indexes for GDP and some 50 product groups, including health and hospitals, on a regular and timely basis.
