OECD events with Southeast Asia
The OECD holds annual events in Southeast Asia, bringing together policy makers from Southeast Asia and OECD member countries, international and regional organisations, experts, and business representatives, in order to share experiences and explore common policy issues and selected topics.
In 2022 and 2023, the annual SEARP event was held at ministerial level in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.

2022 SEA Ministerial conference
9-10 February 2022, Seoul, Korea
Hosted by Korea, the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Programme brought together ministers and high-level officials from OECD, ASEAN and other countries around the theme of “A Human-centred Future: Partnership for a smarter, greener and more inclusive ASEAN”. The event celebrated the achievements of the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Programme to date and looked forward, identifying the digital, environmental and social challenges faced by the region due to the COVID-19 pandemic. How can governments transform these into opportunities and build a human-centred future?

2021 OECD Southeast Asia Regional Forum

The OECD Southeast Asia Regional Programme, in collaboration with the Government of Thailand, hosted its annual Regional Forum focussing on Human Capital Development in Southeast Asia: Fostering Competitiveness to Build Back Better was held virtually and provided a timely opportunity for representatives and policy-makers from Southeast Asia and their OECD peers to rethink policy options for enhancing human capital development to strengthen resilience and competitiveness in the region. Representatives emphasised on the transformative impact of digitalisation on education and skills in order to build back better and ensure resilient recovery. Participants also discussed policy measures to support the reform on the education system in order to close the learning gap among children and youth and to improve skills of adults to adapt to the changing working environment.
