About SWAW

The Sahel and West Africa Week (SWAW) is a series of annual meetings and events of the Sahel and West Africa Club and its partners. Taking place in a different location every year, in 2013, SWAW was celebrated in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from 25 to 29 November.

SWAW is organised by the Secretariat of the Sahel and West Africa Club with the support of the Government of Côte d’Ivoire and in co-operation with the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States, the Commission of the West African Economic and Monetary Union and the Executive Secretariat of the Permanent Inter-State Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS). All three regional organisations are Members of the Club.
