Since 2011 the OECD Sustainable Manufacturing Toolkit has provided a practical starting point for businesses around the world to improve the efficiency of their production processes and products in a way to contribute to sustainable development and green growth.

The key instrument of this toolkit is an internationally applicable common set of indicators to measure environmental performance at the level of facilities.

To ease accessibility to readers with different levels of knowledge and experience, the toolkit exists in two versions – as a booklet and a website. In addition to the start-up guidance contained in the booklet, this website provides more detailed explanations on the implementation of sustainable manufacturing.
