Regional expert meeting on measuring progress towards green growth in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia

EaP GREEN meeting on 5-6 March 2013


Hosted by the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic, a regional expert meeting on measuring progress towards green growth in the countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) took place on 5-6 March 2013 in Prague. The meeting was organised within the framework of the Task Force for the Implementation of the Environmental Action Programme (the EAP Task Force), in particular in connection with the “EaP GREEN” programme, and was financially supported by the European Union, Norway, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

It brought together experts from the ministries of environment and economy, as well as statistics agencies. Other invitees included representatives of the NGO community and key international partners. The meeting reviewed existing experiences of using green growth indicators, and discussed methodological and other forms of support needed to apply such indicators in the EECCA countries. The main outcomes of the meeting are reflected in its Summary Record.
