A new report aims to investigate safety issues related to the prevention of, preparedness for, and response to accidents involving manufactured nanomaterials. Available information, guidelines, and seven accident cases are analysed for raising awareness of chemical safety policymakers on the potential risks of chemical accidents involving nanomaterials and reviewing measures to prevent them.

This study presents a collection of BAT used for reducing or controlling mercury releases to water and land. Seven sectors assessed are widely-known for their mercury releases to water and land/soil: large-scale mining, non-ferrous metal, waste (waste treatment, incineration, storage, and disposal), organic chemicals, chlor-alkali production, oil refining and thermal power plant (TPP).
