The OECD today opened a regional Centre focused on Global Relations in Istanbul, Turkey, creating a dedicated base for deepening co-operation with partner countries and helping them with policy guidance and technical support to build more inclusive and prosperous societies. The new OECD Istanbul Centre will be instrumental to help countries lay the groundwork for a sustainable post-COVID-19 recovery.

It points out that immigrants are no burden on the economies of host countries, and that in developing countries, their impact on labour markets, economic growth and public finance is generally positive although relatively limited.

The Republic of Armenia has one of the highest emigration rates in the world, with about 30% of the population living outside the country. The country would benefit from strengthening its whole-of-government approach to making migration an integral part of its overall development strategies, argues a new report by the OECD Development Centre and the Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC)-Armenia.
