When all the different actors in evaluation - including partner countries - come together to co-ordinate and collaborate, evaluations work better and have more of an impact. The DAC Network on Development Evaluation is a leader in promoting collaborative approaches to evaluations among development agencies and partner countries. Known as joint evaluations, these approaches not only deepen and broaden the level and scope of analysis in evaluations, but also help streamline fragmented efforts. As part of our work to enhance transparency, we identify opportunities for collaboration between our network members.

Building capacity

With its call for ownership, the Paris Declaration has pushed a shift in responsibility for conducting evaluations from developed to developing countries. With the right capacity in place, developing countries can also play a much more active role in joint evaluations. To support the transition, we work with our members to help build capacity among developing countries.
