Information, decisions, and development Trento, Italy, 3-6 June 2010 The Autonomous Province of Trento, in collaboration with the University of Trento, the financial newspaper Il sole 24 Ore, and the publisher Laterza, has, over the past five years, organised the Festival of Economics which has become a very important international event. The Festival is a stimulating and interesting 4-day initiative, which involves international speakers and a wide range of participants from across the world and of every age. Past editions have seen the participation of various Nobel prizes winners and other prominent speakers and politicians. |

The round table focused on the various questions raising from the recent international financial crisis about the development model that was introduced into central-east Europe after 1989, particularly concerning the vulnerability of these economies to external shocks and their capacity to react. The session examined the cases of Hungary and Poland.
