Families are the cornerstone of society. They play a central economic role, are a crucial engine of solidarity, and provide protection and insurance against hardship. Families offer identity, love, care and development to their members and form the core of many social networks.

OECD Family Database

The Family Database provides comparable cross-national data on the situation of families in OECD countries, the OECD’s partner countries, and EU member states. The database contains 70 indicators spanning four main areas: the structure of families, the labour market position of families, public policies for families and children, and child outcomes.

OECD Child Well-being Portal

The OECD Child Well-Being Portal is a platform for conducting policy-oriented research on children, enhancing child well-being and promoting equal opportunities among children. The Portal acts as a hub for the sharing of information and research on children and child well-being from both inside and outside of the OECD. From 20 November 2017, it will also offer a range of data on children and child well-being outcomes.
