OECD Co-operation with Lebanon on Good Governance

In collaboration with Germany, Italy and the United States, the OECD is supporting Lebanon in the implementation of open and digital government reforms. Based on the OECD Recommendations of the Council on Open Government and Digital Government Strategies, the OECD is acting as a knowledge partner and providing the Lebanese government with policy advice, technical support and capacity building.

 Events:

The co-operation includes the following areas of work:

Bringing Government Closer to Citizens

The project will support the Lebanese government in assessing and improving its open government practices at the central and local levels to both align with the OECD Recommendation on Open Government and to support its membership to the Open Government Partnership. To support the implementation of Lebanon’s Digital Transformation Strategy, the OECD will provide actionable recommendations and will develop a framework of oversight and monitoring.
Citizens’ Voice: Communication & Media for a More Open Government
This project aims to strengthen public communication structures and media ecosystems that support open government by assessing existing relationships between government, media and citizens, supporting the creation of a network of public communicators and building capacities of public officials.
Access to Information
This project aims to support the implementation of access to information laws to foster a culture of transparency in the public sector by elaborating a national action plan and providing guidance to officials, the public administration, civil society and the media through capacity building activities, guides and policy analysis and recommendations.
