Working Party of the Leading Practitioners on Public Procurement

Mandate

The Working Party of the Leading Practitioners on Public Procurement (LPP) is assisting the OECD Public Governance Committee in developing policy guidance for public procurement and shaping the policy dialogue with the G20 and the private sector.

Objectives

The objectives of the Working Party of the Leading Practitioners are to:

  • Provide a global view of leading procurement practices through:
    • Knowledge sharing on effective approaches for reforming and improving public procurement systems and
    • Consolidating good practices, focusing on the whole procurement cycle, public procurement outcomes and its contributions to the strategic goals of public governance.
  • Contribute, with respect to public procurement, to:
    • The Public Governance Reviews, in the form of peer participation and the preparation of chapters
    • Country or sector-specific public procurement reviews
    • The Government at a Glance publication, with a particular emphasis on the measurement of public procurement systems in multiple dimensions

In order to achieve these objectives, the Working Party of the Leading Practitioners is for example developing analytical tools, comparative data and indicators on the performance of public procurement systems and conducting benchmarking and peer reviews of public procurement systems.
