OECD-SEBON Conference and roundtable on financial consumer protection and education in Asia-Pacific

Understanding and responding to the impact of demographic changes for financial consumers

 

This event was co-hosted by the OECD and the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), with sponsorship from the Government of Japan. Debates focused on financial education and financial consumer protection in Nepal and across the Asia-Pacific region. Key themes covered include:

  • Supporting and promoting financial inclusion for ageing populations

  • Reducing financial vulnerabilities from childhood

  • Understanding the different needs of rural, remote and urban populations

  • Access to finance and financial education for MSMEs

 

The Conference brought together high-level government officials and experts from public authorities, including regulatory and supervisory authorities, ministries of finance, officials of state governments and international organisations, standard setter bodies, as well as the academic community, the private sector and NGOs. It was followed by a roundtable open only to public authorities.
