Since 2002, the OECD Rural Development Conference Series have helped shape OECD work on rural development leading to the definition and measurement of the performance of rural regions, the evaluation of rural policies amongst OECD member countries and the undertaking of a number of thematic studies on rural development.

Mercury is one of the top 10 chemicals of major public health concern. Once emitted or released, mercury persists in the environment where it circulates between air, water, sediments, soil and living creatures. Dedicated to mercury, this year's Forum will promote effective engagement, collaboration and action on eliminating or reducing mercury from the supply chain.

This event will allow to collectively explore an action-oriented agenda to rebuild trust in public institutions and discuss the key public governance challenges to democracy, such as mis- and disinformation, representation, participation and openness in public life, digital democracy, climate, and resilience to foreign influence, building on the work under the OECD’s Reinforcing Democracy Initiative.
